I don’t remember exactly the motive why I created this piece, but I know that it was very much influenced by Starry Night by Van Goh and by the distortion of Picasso's human form. It is also one of my early pieces where I started to pay more attention to light and shadows. The decision to apply thick paint in the cloud swirl background was made in order to block some marker ink that was showing through from text writing on the back of the non-primed canvas.
